veerabhadrudu movie review

Veerabhadrudu, the latest movie of actor Surya, the Telugu dubbed version of Karuppu, watched in the theatre yesterday.

While the movie watching experience, the storyline, and devotion angle of the story is really standout, there’s something I wanted to point out specifically.

Again, this is my point of view, and you have all rights to disagree and comment your opinion.

As per Google, Lord Veerabhadra is the incarnation of Lord Shiva, to destroy King Daksha (his father in law) for whom, Sathi mata, the wife of lord shiva immolated herself in the sacrificial fire (yagna fire) due to the humiliation she faced for her husband lord shiva for attending the yagna uninvited.

Leaving all those a side, coming to the movie, everything in this movie is really good. Working towards righteousness, dharma, truth, punishment is all good. But the thing that I was disturbed when I saw the human incarnation of lord Veerbhadra, which actor Surya is playing, is eating meat loaded biryani and smoking multiple times on the screen, is what I strongly disagree from my point of view.

The story line is strong, the taking, screenplay, VFX is also stronger. But that’s the one point that I don’t agree with the makers of the movie, which is making the deities eating non vegetarian food on the screen.

Again, there’s a culture in some places in India, where they sacrifice animals like goat and hen, to satisfy deities, but it’s not written anywhere in any scripture, because gods are like the mother and father of every living being in this planet be it humans or animals.

and No parent want to eat the meat of their own Childs.

So, without those scenes I’ll give this movie a strong 3.5 out of 5 stars for an excellent performance by all the cast and crew of the movie and something really need of the hour looking at the current scenario of Tamil Nadu state.
