Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana, our history, our truth trailer dropped today in the very early morning.
After seeing the trailer, I can say that the makers are really trying their best to bring the authentic version of Ramayana on the silver screen ever made in a best possible way.
What’s good?
Environment building, cinematography, vfx, cgi work, right depiction of the story of Ramayana, performance of actors, direction, sound effects, visuals, emotions really stands out.
What could be improved?
The dubbing, background music, and overall visuals could be improved a bit.
The dubbing seems off in the whole trailer, for example you see Kantara, the kind of depth it requires for every character, it’s not there in the trailer yet, maybe they’ll fix during the release.
The Telugu version of the trailer dubbing is good than the Hindi version. Even in the Telugu version, Ram’s voice is not suiting with his personality at all. The voice needs that magic.
Coming to the background music, really can’t connect with it at all. Every time the English style music is not resonating with the Indian story of Ramayana at all since the teaser.
Something with Indian instruments, Indian style classic music could have made the scenes 100x larger than life, they can consult with Rishab Setty or other Indian music producers like Ajay Atul for something fresh and out of the box.
They should rethink about the music 5 times next time.
The third point is missing of Lord Hanumanji. Yes, every character is shown in the trailer, but Lord Hanuman’s character is totally missing. This is really unfair. at least a static shot of him could have gracefully elevated the whole trailer.
I just want to suggest the makers that, don’t get into hurry of releasing the movie or assets. Think 10 times before releasing anything.
Do we even need approval from the western countries for Ramayana? No!
We Indians are good enough. We can take this masterpiece somewhere else.
If a crime movie like Dhurandhar can earn 2000 crores in the box office, then this is Ramayana, our culture and our history.
Nothing is wasted yet, the film is not released, and there’s good enough time. Reconsider the music in the next release trailer, don’t make the trailer so much longer and revealing everything, Keep surprises.
If it requires, reconsider the music directors as well, because they’re right at their place but their generation of music not suiting the visuals at all.
It needs lot of emotions, highs and lows; everything seems off.
Music puts sole into any visual, but in the era of reels, if public needs to get connected to the movie, then music should be prioritized now.
The visuals are looking improved a lot than the Ram Glimpse. There’s a room of improvement in the color grading aspects and vfx works here and there, but apart that visuals look good.
So if they work on it, Showing something on Lord Hanumanji, Reconsidering music, regenerating it or modifying it, and considering Indian audience as priority, 2000 crore box office is a piece of cake for the movie.
