DeepSeek has announced significant API price increases, which the author views as a drawback for users who relied on its low cost. After using the APIs personally, the author suggests relying on official platforms like Claude and ChatGPT, noting that LLM APIs are becoming costly even for large companies.
As per the new newsletter from DeepSeek, they’re saying that they will increase their API prices in their near future, not a small rise, a significant rise, as per their notes.
So, it’s a bad time for all DeepSeek and AI/LLM users or AI enthusiasts.
DeepSeek is the only LLM that used to cost less and worked parallel to OpenAI in many areas.
I’ve used personally their APIs in chatbots, automations in n8n, my website ai agents, and lot other things.
But now it’s high time to go for other alternatives.
And it’s time to acknowledge the fact that LLMs are not cheap! They’re not at all affordable to normal users whomsoever it may be.
For regular tasks, use their official platforms like Claude (https://claude.ai/new), ChatGPT(https://chat.openai.com/) and gather your information, but while coming to using APIs now, it would be difficult even for the big MNCs choosing their right LLM models due to hefty cost per million tokens.
