Project Brief

I was briefed to make a working full-fledged eCommerce website. That’s it. I took it personally and made it by putting a lot of personal effort and making the user experience a lot of faster than other sites. I tried to make the visitor make the checkout within two to three seconds of adding the product to the cart.

Project Goals

Prakruthi Pickles sell non veg pickles like Chicken, Mutton, Prawns in three varities – Avakaya, Gongura and Poppyseed. and this is their USP. The goal was to get sales online for their non-veg pickles.  So instead of having all types of pickles like veg and non-veg, in the first year, we focused on selling the non-veg pickles only. and The results were phenomenal.

Challenges Faced

The biggest challenge we faced was getting less sales while keeping only the online payment option, and getting more sales while keeping the COD (Cash on Delivery), but also getting many dummy orders, placed by miscreants. But eventually we were able to manage them a lot, still the problem does exist. and another biggest issue we faced was the quick checkout of the customer after keeping the product in his/her cart.  Our checkout form was so long and so clunky. We tried to manage it in the later stage.

Execution

So after implementing the website we tried to make the checkout a lot faster with Razorpay magic checkout and a mini cart functionality developed in house. and it was superb and gave us instant results. The mini side cart functionality made the experience of the user a lot better. The magic checkout from Razorpay was critical in validating the user with his or her phone number through OTP and getting the spam rank for each user. It was made us confident in delivering the COD orders and getting better in taking decisions for our operations and saved a lot of money.

Performance (Impact & Results)

We ran performance marketing campaigns in Google Search and Meta (Facebook and Instagram). Our ROI was 5x. and it’s so good. After 3 months of trials and testings and rectifications we’re back on track and getting good results.

The issue we faced with Prakruthi pickles in the later stage was the stock management. The challenge was delivering the freshest pickles possible to the doorstep of customers, so what they used to do was preparing every individual order and shipping it on the third or fourth day and by the time it reach to the customer was the 5th to 10th day, and it was although good for existing customers, some customers used to complaint for the delayed delivery of orders.

Sometime the shipping gateway that we’re using is creating many problem and there’s no proper solutions from their support team to address the grievance about the parcel.

While the process of new problems and tackling those issues is still going on, Prakruthi pickles was one of my vey satisfying product as I created it from scratch, done the marketing campaigns, brought sales and helped the company grow digitally from scratch.

The tools used in the journey were WooCommerce, Razorpay, Shiprocket, Figma, Ai sensy and many more.
