Is it better to work remotely or onsite? Where do you work more?

Remember the days when heading to the office was just part of life? Then working from home was more like a scam, many odd jobs, and scams related to working from home were spread through many job search platforms. But after the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the remote work culture is growing faster than the office culture.

Even the new generation is willing to work remotely instead of working from the office and wants to be independent and have greater control of their lives.

Even companies or startups prefer to hire more employees on a remote work basis as they are not able to rent a good space as their office space due to the heavy rental prices or not being able to find talent in their local area or cities.

Generally, people are not willing to travel to more away cities just to earn a livelihood and leave their hometowns. Once upon a time, this was a fact.

While this is a great signal of comfort and choice for both the employer and employee, The real question is is the employee working less by working from home or working a lot more than a usual employee who works from the office or does not site daily?

The answer will really shake you.

The Old Normal vs The New Normal

In the good old days, if someone says that he was in a work-from-home job or profession, believing that fact was a lot more harder. Many questions were used to arise, whether he’s paying on time or not, whether the employer or the company is genuine or not, whether is he going to be scammed etc etc.

But in the new normal the work-from-home culture is spread across the country like anything. In the filter bar of any job search portal like LinkedIn, you can find more job listings on work from work-from-home basis than in the old days, and the applications are huge due to huge unemployment in the country.

In the old days, you may have had to travel from your home carrying your lunchbox to your office or workplace, you had to be on time, punch your thumb and sing on time, you forgot to punch or sing, then many companies were used to consider it as leave, even though you were present and working.

To be on time, you used to start a lot earlier to travel through your local train, bus or autorickshaw or your own vehicle to reach the office on time.

But remote work culture removes this travel thing as you can directly start the work on time from the comfort of your home.

After the pandemic restrictions were lifted from the country and COVID-19 cases decreased, many big MNCs started a hybrid work culture, where the employee must come to the office for a minimum of days in a week and present, whereas on other days he or she can work remotely.

This hybrid culture is still being followed by many organisations.

What Does “Working More” Even Mean?

Working more means working a lot more than you used to work at office before the remote work culture. The time you start your work, Generally you do your work, take some rest, tea break, lunch for an hour, then again a tea break, a team brainstorming session, a break if you feel stuck etc, but in the remote work culture, you don’t get any such things at all.

Even though you are allowed to take a lunch break, you generally start earlier as soon as your lunch is completed, because you don’t feel like spending time just like that for no reason, and without any colleague, you just try to finish the work as soon as possible.

But here the actual trap begins.

You get the feeling of not delivering and doing justice by working from home and trying to do more work and work hard to complete the pending tasks and projects on time, whereas the employer thinks that you are ignoring the work and spending time watching OTT or enjoying at home, so he or she tries to give you more work and deadline to complete by the end of the day.

That makes you more worried and frustrated and you end up working more to long hours till night without even taking any kind of break.

The work output shall be measured with more quality output rather than measuring with more quantity.

The creative professional suffers more due to heavy work demands and less freedom to think and work with creativity. So chronologically the quality of work diminishes and the work and repetitions increase from the quality check team, and then the employees generally work for more hours than expected.

Work From Home: The Pros and Cons

    Pros

The best thing about working from home is no need to commute in traffic. Generally, when you commute every day you spend a few extra hours travelling and generally, it’s risky for your body than you can get to face any kind of accidents and unnecessary chaos on your way to your work. So by working from home you generally get to remove this thing of commuting for your work.

When you work from home, you are very close with your family members, Generally, if you have older parents and younger children you generally get more time to spend with them. While this is a boon, sometimes it creates more disturbance for the family to work from them in your working hours to fulfil some home requirements or to go to the store to buy some general stuff for the home, where you get to lose a lot of time and focus from your work.

Another thing which I don’t recommend is that you can do whatever you like while working from your home, Because there’s no peer pressure to be ready and wear your clothes formally or certain way to look decent among your peers, you can wear any clothes you like and work comfortably. But I always recommend wearing decent clothes and working professionally to get more focus towards your work and get respect for what you do, or else you’ll generally lose your interest towards your work.

Another pro of working from home is flexibility. You can eat, drink, sit work as per your choice. You can sit at any corner of your house with your laptop or devices and you can do as per your mood of the day.

    Cons

While the pros are good, there are many cons that no office-going employee faces at all.

There are many distractions you have to face while working from home, the notice from your home, the family noise or the traffic near your home, everything disturbs you personally. and sometimes the internet or broadband goes off, and it takes time to restore, the employer generally gets annoyed with these excuses, and generally thinks that you are lying or something like that.

While you work from home, your personal life generally gets disturbed, as there’s a thin blurred line between your work and your personal life. The family thinks that you are available for them and you tend you work more for your family and have to suffer all happening in your family.

sometimes working from home leads to overworking because you feel like you need to prove you’re doing enough.

Work From the Office: The Good, The Bad, and The Busy

While the grass looks green on the other side, the working from office is also not an excuse.

    What Works?

The office brings structure, routine, and face-to-face interaction with colleagues. As a human being, you need more connections with your peers, with whom you can share your work pressure or your work-related things which can be solved in minutes so that you get a collaborative environment and you don’t feel like working as everything goes smoother in a structured manner.

It’s easier to separate work from life when you can physically leave the office. When you come to work, you come to work, no other bullshit at all, like you face at home while working from home.

    What’s Tough?

it’s the everyday commute, that’s tougher than the work. Generally, you suffer more in the commute than working from the office, when you work on-site. Yes, everyday commute is a tough task. You have to change many routes, many vehicle directions, face many strangers while having your journey, and have to see many things which could be disturbing and can damage your mental personality and can distract you from your work and make you drain your energy.

Which indirectly makes you sick and tired while you come back at home in the evening, you feel lost and drained.

Does being in the office make it feel like you’re doing more, even if you’re not always productive?

What We Think vs What’s Real

The viewpoint of employees and employers are different. While the employee is thinking about delivering more predictive and quality work the employer thinks in numbers like more getting done while paying less and spending as little time as possible.

Does sitting at your desk in an office give the illusion of being more productive? Don’t get fooled by your preconceived theory that while you are sitting and browsing in your office you’re working more. No. it’s not like that. You have your peers, office friends and colleagues, you chat with them. You bitch about others. You go to coffee or smoking breaks. You get many perks like you don’t need your own device, your own air conditioners, or your working desk cubicles

Everything is set up for you, but while working at home, you’ve to arrange everything and pay for everything out of your pocket, and it hurts at the end of every month through heavy bills and EMIs.

While working from home, you feel like providing justice to your salary and the organisation that you are working in, so you tend to deliver and work more for a lower salary.

    How it Affects Your Well-being

It affects both physically and mentally. Working more makes us mentally stressed and creates an imbalance between work and personal life. And even if we work more, pay less attention to the body and barely eat anything, we gradually get weaker and fatter with more physical damage.

Even your work area plays a key role in your well-being. It should be neat clean and well-structured to create a healthy working environment.

Even though the there’s a rise in hybrid work, even though it’s possible for those who have relocated from their home to a city where the company is located beneficial for them, staying in a remote location and following the hybrid work culture is expensive.

    Wrapping it Up

Generally, I would prefer both work from home or work from office, but work from home should be the preferred method, because of less commute and spending more time with family.

But many things to take care of, such as keeping less stress, the mindset of delivering more should be taken away, the work pressure from the company shall be decreased. If all the above conditions are fulfilled then there’s no better option than work from home or remote work.

  • My straight question to the government of india

My straight question to the government of india

Why did you ban the TikTok app?

Data, privacy & security reasons. correct?

    • Data privacy and security: The government expressed concerns that these apps were collecting and storing large amounts of user data, which could be misused or shared with foreign governments.
    • Border tensions: The ban came shortly after a deadly border clash between India and China, heightening tensions between the two countries.
    • Sovereignty and integrity: The government believed these apps could threaten India’s sovereignty and integrity, potentially allowing foreign entities to influence public opinion or gather sensitive information.
and now coming to my question, Why aren't you banning or regulating Instagram?

Can’t you see what the platform is doing in India? Don’t you see the app’s impact on the psychology of this country’s citizens? Don’t you see the misuse of the data to target every individual with provocative content or run campaigns and promote anti-national content and creators by all the American-owned platforms?

Don’t you find it scary? a threat to national security? Don’t you like to regulate YouTube? especially the Instagram as soon as possible?

In the case of TikTok, I agree and support your decision. But why are so soft and neglected when it comes to American-owned companies? Can’t you create your software and platforms like China under Make in India?

One day Hackers hacked 3 of my Facebook pages, and all the admins lost their access. Here in the below video, I’ve explained how I got all of them back. it’s a story of consistency and never giving up.

Don’t miss this. There’s a deep lesson on cybersecurity as well.

  • artificial intelligence: Is AI really a threat to creatives jobs in 2024?

artificial intelligence: Is AI really a threat to creatives jobs in 2024?

Is AI really a threat to creative jobs in 2024? are creative jobs like photography, design, writing, and marketing still under threat due to AI?

We’re in September 2024, If I come straight to the answer, it is a big NO. I’ve been working as a professional graphic designer, digital marketer, and website designer since 2020. For two to three years I’ve been using AI for my daily tasks extensively.

Still, many content creators, YouTubers, and Instagrammers are creating daily content that AI is taking away a lot of creative jobs in the market. My direct question to them is show me one person, just one who has lost his job due to AI. None! Yes. They may be lost due to mass layoffs from the organisation due to some financial crisis, or profitability, or one single employee lost his job may be because he doesn’t like his job or he got another better opportunity or he may be fired because of his bad behaviour in that organisation.

I have never found any article or any social media post yet where I can see a person writing that he lost his job and is not hopeful of finding any other due to AI.

The Rise of AI in Creative Fields

There’s no doubt or question about the rise of AI in the creative fields, be it Gemini or Chat GPT for content writing or AI chatbot assistance, be it Midjourney, stable diffusion, Leonardo AI, adobe firefly for image creation; eleven labs for video editing, descript for video captions etc are evolved recently and are doing good. We as creative artists and professionals are using them to make our workflow better every day.

    Adobe Firefly AI
Adobe Firefly AI, which can generate stunning images as per your prompts, even you can add your reference images to make it think that way.

As a Graphic Designer, I’ve to work with software like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator every day. Before AI, getting a vector was a complex and time task, but now, you can generate a simple vector within seconds.

Let me show you a sample below.

    Adobe Illustrator Generative AI Demo

In the above video, you can see I’ve generated a vector art of a wildlife nature scene within a fraction of a few seconds.

    Midjourney
Midjourney the image generative AI Tool
    Chat GPT
Chat GPT – the popular AI chat GPT from Open AI

There are many chatbots and AI tools now available on the internet which are making the workflow of any creative job professional a lot easier and faster. isn’t it good news? Did you find anything like the designer is getting stressed? No. Can the client do it? Yes. But does he have the Adobe license? Does he or she have the infrastructure of a creative professional? does he know the Adobe environment? Does he have the basic design sense? or most importantly does he or she have time? isn’t it?

A creative job in only the design generated by the AI, it’s much more than that. It’s a big process that goes before and after the AI task, Such as client onboarding, negotiation, Understanding project requirements, finalizing the deliverables, storyboarding, sketching, scripting, invoicing, payment and a lot more.

it’s a process, an institution that humans need every day. AI can’t deal with this let me tell you. It’s a very much stressful task. Others can’t handle this much stress.

    image 6

If you see the article, Robots in South Korea damaging themselves due to heavy work pressure. I’m not joking, it’s on the News. you can google it.

Robots or AI are made to think like Humans. and This is the most dangerous thing, but difficult for the AI as well. it can’t. Even though it can, it can’t work like humans. There are layers of working as a human.

The emotions change suddenly among humans, the unknown force behind a human can never be achieved by any AI.

As you can see in my above-embedded YouTube video, AI is helping me make my workflow faster and better, But for that must be good at giving the prompt, try giving it multiple times, till you get your desired results. and then you are good to go, You can publish the output directly on social media or anywhere you want to publish or you can edit or modify it with your creativity and then publish after getting approval from the clients.

The best part of working with Ai as a creative designer is that it handles repetitive and boring tasks like removing the background or clearing the clutter or colour correction, which take hours before if you were with any local DTP shop, but now it’s a lot easier and better.

AI vs. Human Creativity: What Can AI Not Do?

If you are a creative photographer, and you shot the images with your camera, then the client will pay you for those photos, rather than those given by the AI, because it’ll not match their exact face or their body type, and will not satisfy them at all.

The Human touch is above everything. It is costly. You can see the better designed sarees are selling less due to machine made, but at the same time, the sarees which are hand mande are costing thousands of rupees in india, due to the factor handicraft nature of it and time taken to bring one piece complete and produce it.

isn’t it great? The human touch. it’s above everything. The feeling, the emotion can never be brought with an AI content. Even if you are using chat bots like Gemini or Chat GPT, then must have seen that, most of the times, theire prompts are not usable in your work, you have tweak them as per your creative thoughts and then bring it live, it’s great effort and needs human internvention.

The Fear of Job Loss: Is It Valid?

Yes, I certainly with it. Some will lost their jobs due to AI. Wait, before you judge me, Let me come straight, Those who don’t upgrade themselves, those don’t reskill, upskill, learn, unlearn, relearn, will certainly loose their livelihood if they are directly getting competition from AI. But if they are adopting it for their daily use, then there’s nothing to worry about.

The Future of Creative Jobs in the AI Age

The future of crative jobs in the age of AI is bright and bold. And don’t have to worry at all. Just try to do your best, give the best output. Try to stand out among the crowd of competitors and deliver better results with integrating AI in your daily tasks.

  • How’s the Freelance Market in India in 2024?

How’s the Freelance Market in India in 2024?

If you are reading this, you are either a freelancer in India or aspiring to be a freelancer. If you are little aware of the market then must know that the freelance market in India has been growing on a rapid scale since the 2020 pandemic.

Everybody wants to be their boss, rather than work for others daily from 9 to 5. Especially 80% of the younger generation thinks like this.

But there are many insider things that I want to explain to you today, which no linkedin top creators or other freelancing websites and platforms are gonna tell you.

This is going to be the secret sauce to become the top cream among fellow freelancers in the upcoming decade.

challenges of working with Indian clients

We are seeing that India is booming and going to be self-reliant and many startups are rising in India, and the MSME sector is also the dominant one, which greatly contributes towards the growth of our GDP and Indian economy.

As per the latest information received from the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation, the share of MSME Gross Value Added (GVA) in all India Gross Domestic Product (GDP) during the year 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22 was 30.5%, 27.2% and 29.2% respectively. The share of MSME manufacturing output in all India Manufacturing output during the years 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22 was 36.6%, 36.9% and 36.2% respectively.

As per the information received from the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics (DGCIS), the share of export of MSME specified products in all India exports during the year 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23 was 49.4%, 45.0% and 43.6% respectively.

I totally agree with the above statements. But, the question is is it going to be similarly favourable towards the Indian freelancers? Let me put it again. Are the MSME industries going to pay well to the freelancers as per the industry standards? are they going to consider them as their business partners?

I know what you are thinking now. it’s a straight NO. Companies and industries in India, want more revenue and make more profits but paying their employees, spending more on marketing, etc are in the optional category for this type of small MSME businesses. and coming to thinking about well paying the FREELANCERS is nearly impossible.

Even if you are the one who skyrockets their branding and sales, and the alpha of your work, you do the best with the best peers, the best equipment, software, and delivery, it doesn’t matter to them. They will compare you to other guys who provide the same kind of work for very very cheap rates.

You’ll be treated like an asshole. A person who is greedy, and stubborn to decrease his charges. Your investments in campaigns and sales and the market will just be burnt out. Trust me you’ll get ZERO ROI on Ad spend.

And all this I’m saying from my personal experience.

Okay so, shall you stop freelancing? Hell NO. Till now I talked about my experience of FREELANCING in India, not for the tier 1 countries.

And from here the party and the story begins!

Shift in focus: Why targeting tier 1 countries is crucial for freelancers

I never said that you shouldn’t do freelancing in India or can’t do it. I’m saying that if you just want to work like a hard-working labourer who is working on a construction project just to earn his daily livelihood, then you’re most welcome. You can leave this article from this line, But if you are a person with big dreams in your mind, big aspirations, a good future, a decent life, with healthy food options, good living and a decent quality of life, then trust me you can’t achieve by working for Indian clients. You have to work day and night restlessly damaging your body to earn similar results.

Working for Tier 1 countries like the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Ireland, Singapore, and Europe you work with those people who understand branding or whatever service you provide them. They respect the effort you’re putting in for them.

It’s not like you’ll get 100% of good clients from the abroad countries but much better than Indian clients that I can guarantee you.

They pay well. They pay as per the industry standard. There you can charge on an hourly basis, rather than working hours and hours without having any kind of monetary benefits.

Some of you will teach me gyan about serving the country, but for what purpose? for generating wealth for a particular individual or a single company you’ll compare it with the service of the nation.

Let me clear you about this, when you receive dollars from international countries your country’s foreign reserves grow, and it becomes much more prosperous. it’s going to be a big gig economy, by exporting your freelancing services you are also providing export services for the country which in turn a kind of service to the nation in a big way.

You’ve to come out of the labour mindset. Working for money, or working to save time. By working for money in India, you’ll be working for a longer period to earn and build a big corpus, rather than if you work to save time, you can build a big empire by working abroad, or working for abroad clients.

Here you’re not exploiting the abroad clients, You work for those who have value for work. Who understand the stuff you can achieve for them by your service. There’s a huge demand for skilled manpower abroad.

You’re just filling the gap, and why not if you can earn more then definitely you should do that, if someone chooses to work more for less, I think it’s a total waste of time, money and energy.

One more thing that I’ve to make clear is that if you find an Indian company that wants to work with you on your terms wants to have that mutual understanding and respect and wants to pay equally then I’ve no objections to it. In that case, you must work for Indian companies first, even though the payment is a bit lower than foreign standards but much better than other so-called clients, who just want to exploit the freelancers just for their self-growth and individual achievements.

And trust me with my experience of working with more than 100 clients and talking to much more than that I can say that more than 90% of them are like the ones to try to exploit you. and others are just poor who have intentions but less budget to fund you. Trust me, this is the reality in India.

The rise of platform competition and oversaturation in India

In the name of freelancing in India, the three most popular platforms are Fiverr, Upwork and LinkedIn. But if you are also like me and do stuff like graphic design, and digital marketing then you must be aware of the heavy competition not less than the government job market in India.

One vacancy or one freelancing opportunity has many applications from India, and Pakistan combined, because the FIVERR market is dominated by Pakistani freelancers, and Upwork is a premium platform for which you have to buy credits to apply for a sufficient amount of Upwork freelance jobs. and Linkedin is now no less than Facebook and Instagram, full of nonsense with so-called gurus, and experts, with heavier competition than anywhere else!

So what’s the solution in the oversaturated market in India? Personal branding. freelancing is also a kind of business, and you must aim for a long-term game rather than a short-term lottery. It’s not at all like that and don’t dare to think of Freelancing as a lottery to become rich.

Moneymindedness can give you a kickstart but long-term game needs consistency. The continuous efforts to build a brand, stabilise it, grow it, and promote it in a 360° marketing approach. You have to do content marketing on your blog, social media and YouTube.

You have to do paid advertising campaigns, you’ve to do cold outreach on social media, WhatsApp and company emails. You have to do SEO for your business website and other platforms. You have to make cold calls to clients.

You’ve to do a whole lot of things that are a lot more than you do by just working as an employee in any agency or company.

You’re building your future of existence and survival. You can’t think like just any other day job to work from 9 to 5. And read this very very carefully, you have to, you have to work from early in the morning or whenever you start to late in the night.

You have to be your boss and your employee. You have to be your manager, own HR, own content creator, own employee, own accountant and a lot more.

It’s going to be hell in the beginning for a few years when you start on your own.

Many days will be full of new projects, but some other months will be empty of any freelance tasks.

One more thing keep in mind that like any other business, like any other business you have to invest a hell lot of money in this freelancing business to grow it, to make branding, to create content, to manage stuff, to manage platforms, to pay the subscription of the apps, websites, hosting, software, advertising and more!

Payment delays and low budgets from Indian clients

Getting payments is very easy right now with new-age tools like Zoho and Razorpay.

Sending invoices with Razorpay is a lot easier, receiving payments with new-age payment systems like UPI is very good in India and even you can receive invoice payments with Razorpay by linking your Paypal with it from the dashboard of Razorpay. it’s that easy.

    Check out Razorpay here.

    Razorpay logo

Okay coming to the topic again, getting payments is a lot easier, but getting payments from Indian clients is a hell lot of a task. You have to follow up. They will not give the advance so easily, even if they will, they will bargain at 20% or 30% and after the delivery some will block, some will ignore, some never respond, and some will pay much less than the fixed amount during the initial discussion at the beginning of the project.

Sometimes you literally have to beg every day multiple times to ask for payment for the task that you had many days or months earlier.

It’s a literally daunting task, much frustrating to deal with Indian clients. But with foreign clients payment most of the time is a smoother experience. What I have seen is that they don’t bargain with you like the Indian clients like a fish market or Mandi.

Indian Clients Unwillingness to pay for premium services

    image 4
    image 5

We must have seen many such amazing memes on social media right? They are true. Let me tell you my story. Some clients will come asking for doing them a good-looking website with an e-Commerce facility. At the beginning of my days, I used to charge very little. So If you collectively take building a website and try to build it with genuine efforts, you’ve to pay for a lot of things, like hosting, domain, themes, and plugins like Elementor which is used in design. and these things cost money.

So for example, let’s assume I charge for my services 5000, and the tools cost another Rs.5000, and when I quote this to my clients, it will cost Rs.10,000 to build the website, and they will start behaving like a rude guy out of nowhere. They will tell me that they can build a free website on a blogger, they know someone who can do it for very less, or someone who is providing at just Rs.3000, unaware of the final results and meeting their expectations, and costs involved in the project.

These types of instances break our motivation to work hard and give the best results for the clients and demotivate us. Some clients whom we trust a lot like a friend or mentor exploit us more, asking for more tasks and paying nothing in return, and out of courtesy and future earning possibility we have to do those tasks literally without any payment.

But abroad clients do understand the cost of time spent not all, again, but most of them do value it.

Lack of appreciation for creativity and effort

Let’s say before you begin a project, you’ll ask them about their exact requirements, deadlines, competitors, content, budget, and more, trust me most of them will tell you nothing. They will tell you that they trust you, make it your way, and we can figure it out later. But this is where you get into trouble. After you work hard for days, and deliver it, They will call you with full crazy amount of inner hatred and ego, will tell you that you disappointed them, you didn’t make it, and the expectations are not achieved.

you need to correct all of them. and then have to submit it again. it will eat a lot of your time, energy and self-esteem.

Freelancing in tier 1 countries like the USA, UK, and Australia

in tier 1 countries there’s a culture of respecting, nurturing enabling, and motivating the talent to grow more, not like us who always try to pull the leg if some of us will grow more.

Indian clients value quantity over quality. If you deliver them 30 social media posts for 30 days with way less budget and poor quality work, they are extremely happy and satisfied, rather than providing 10 high-value quality posts that can impact their business in the long run.

but foreign clients crave quality rather than quantity. The philosophy that our ancient scriptures taught us to make a work-life balance, to take care of our body, mind and soul. We forgot everything. We forgot Yoga, inner engineering and many more things like chanting bhajans and meditation.

But the abroad countries took from us, translated them, practice them, and do understand what’s the quality of life. If you are aware a bit you can find many abroad people who like to walk or cycle more rather than just riding and burning fuel in their car. They value the environment, they work for the carbon neutral future, what are we doing? What’s our system doing? I can’t say much now. But I will some other day in some other blog including our education system and all.

I’ve known many big agency owners in India and freelancers who grow multifold and earn six figures or more every month just by working with foreign clients.

High ticket sales are possible through dealing with foreign clients, Indian clients get feared of paying Rs.10000 a month to get their social media managed by a freelancer or someone making content for them. it’s the harsh reality.

Most in-demand freelance skills in 2024 globally

Even though there’s a very high demand for the above-skilled talents, India lacks it, because of its current education system. It’s all okay till the school, but it doesn’t matter to them at all in the college. at the end of the semester, they will charge you to pay you for the certificate or degree which will be useful for you to apply for any government job or any advanced courses, Otherwise, the degree is of no use.

No institute is teaching them the trending skills, because one they are unaware of the job market and the trends, and two the teachers or professors who work there do not know the latest courses, curriculum, demand skills etc.

I experienced that research mindset and question mindset are discouraged in Indian educational institutions, rather than rote learning, giving ranks or marks is all that matters to them.

In future, I’ll write about my opinion on the Indian education system, and how it can be transformed into something better and revolutionary.

How to start targeting Tier-1 countries as a Freelancer?

The only way to target those countries is to outbound reach. You’ve to reach to them on their email, social media, website contact page, targeted paid ads etc.

But remember, your message must have really strong and personal touch points or else, you will be discarded straight away. You’ll get rejected hundreds of times, But one client can change it all. You just have to work hard trying to reach as many people as possible.

Try Meta ads and sell your services through them. You have to use a 360° marketing approach to get foreign clients for freelancing.

don’t rely on platforms like Fiverr and Upwork, it’s simply just waste of time, money, energy and resources.

Become a T-shaped Freelancer, who has in-depth knowledge about a particular skill task, and knows all other modern tasks trending in the market and in high in demand in abroad countries like the USA, by this, you will be able to achieve great success.

So I think you got the answer!. I wish you all the very best.

  • How eating out is making you poor and bankrupt in 2024!

How eating out is making you poor and bankrupt in 2024!

We the genZ love eating out a lot, and spending time with our friends or ourselves at any restaurant or cafe in the evening time for dinner or just chilling casually.

This trend is on the rise in India.

    image 1
Frequency of dining out or buying food outside of home in India as of December 2022, by age group as per Statista.

After the boom of UPI, the spending mechanism has become easier for the new generation. They hate to keep the cash or even the wallet in their pocket. if you disagree with me you can comment down below.

Nowadays for eating out, you don’t even need cash in your bank account, There’re many BNPL (Buy Now Pay Later) apps available in the market that provide short-term loans for such small expenses. And it gradually becoming a habit of young Indian consumers.

Eating out or eating outside food has included the factor of hidden cost of convenience

Before 3 to 4 years, the boom of Jio or the internet in India, People also used to eat outside, but now the scale and tarika (method) have changed.

Many instant food delivery apps like Swiggy and Zomato are making it a factor of convenience, anybody who knows the decent use of their mobile phone and knows how to use UPI can conveniently order food, from the comfort of their couch in their home.

But there’s a big hidden psychological cost involved in it. The cost of convenience. You may feel like giving or paying less, but instead, you’re paying more than the actual price of the dish or food if you dine in the restaurant directly. And sometimes if you are paying through your credit card or BNPL apps it just feels like a smooth transition of slides and buttons but in the gap of that, you spend more than Rs.500 which is even the average income of most of the young generation in the country.

    image 2
Average Salary by Age in India as per Forbes
    image 3

if you see the above chart the average value is more than Rs.450, and the average daily income of Indians is 500, so most of them spend more than 90% of their earning just for eating out. If you see the first chart of Statista you’ll find that the age group between 16 – 44 prefer more to spend to eating outside at least once every day, several times a week or once a week.

    and this thing is horrifying!

How did eating out become a habit?

The primary reason these days is the social media and the FOMO factor. People especially the younger generation Gen Z and Gen Alpha, consume food-related content every day on their social media feeds or reel videos, and generally those videos create dopamine hits in their brand and create food cravings.

    The ease of accessibility

After they get the craving for food, they even don’t need to go out to dine, because of the ease of accessibility with their smartphone. They order with Swiggy, and Zomato and mostly pay through online payment methods only which are generally prepaid.

the younger generation uses cash payments or COD very less, and that’s why the value they are paying seems much less. Generally, when you pay for something with hard cash you feel the pain why giving it.

    Emotional Triggers

Generally social media content, and FOMO all trigger them emotionally to order food and eat. Cooking food at home is a matter of great effort. You’ve to go for shopping for vegetables, which costs money for fuel and vegetables, and then you have to cook, then also costs money, time and and lot of preparation before starting cooking. Which almost takes an hour or two everyday.

But ease of convenience, accessibility, emotional triggers and the facility of getting food in your hand in less than 30 minutes are the main reasons behind it.

But how you are getting poor by the above eating out?

    Cumulative cost over time

Let’s assume you earn Rs.1000 every day and for one time meal, you order outside food. Let’s assume you are spending Rs.400 every day on outside food. if we calculate it monthly you are spending more than Rs.12,000 just for outside food, which is almost more than 40% of your total monthly income. And yes I’ve put your daily earnings at Rs.1000.

if you are earning around Rs.800 then assume that almost 50% or more you are spending on it. and this is not the only reason.

The recurring increase in monthly interests

When you order, sometimes or most of the time, you must have using the ease of payment methods like BNPL, credit cards etc which cost interest on the principal amount spent.

If you don’t pay the principal amount of the credit card within the given period of 30 or 50 days, due to your low earning potential and lower salary, you end up paying interest on credit cards just for your eating outside food.

In my point of view, this is a crime. This is a crime you do to hurt yourself in the future.

The Impact on Your Savings and Financial Goals

The loans, expenses, and interests damage your savings and future financial goals badly. They take months and years to recover and come out of the debt trap.

Many people just try to clear the minimum payment due on their credit card, which is a blunder, because they are just paying the interest on their monthly interest, and not even touching their principal amount.

Generally, youngsters dream of having their own house or having their choice of vehicle etc. and most of them work hard and are talented. But the debt trap due to their credit habit due to their eating out practice makes them poor eventually which in turn impacts their saving, investment and financial goals.

Comparing Eating Out vs. Cooking at Home

    Cost Comparison

Let’s assume you eat fried rice every day outside and this is your favourite food. Let’s compare it if you cook it in your home everyday how much will cost vs eating out and having it?

For cooking a plate of fried rice, you need rice, let’s assume you purchase good quality sona masoori rice, you spend around Rs.1500 for a packet of the rice bag, and suppose for all the masalas like Salt, spices you spend another Rs.500 for the whole month, and if you are a vegetarian or non-vegetarian, then you spend on eggs at rs.5 or 6 each. and for fuel, you may spend around Rs.1000 for a gas cylinder depending on the city you are living in.

and if we add more vegetables. and make the amount much bigger than this it’s not going anywhere more than Rs.10,000. But if you are eating out you already seen the data above in the starting paragraphs of the article. I think you got my point.

Health and Financial Benefits of Home-Cooked Meals

When you cook your meal at home, you take care of everything. You select the best ingredients, quality vegetables, raw materials, and spices, and you clean utensils, and cutleries before the preparation. You start in a clean kitchen environment.

You can even customize the preparation surroundings as per your choice. Some even play bhajans to make it satwik or a positive vibe while cooking food. and while cooking eating at home, makes you less sick and prone to food poisoning compared to eating out in crowded busy restaurants, where you can’t determine the cooking hygiene and mindset, or the quality of raw materials used to cook there.

    Psychological and Lifestyle Traps

Keeping Up with Appearances with colleagues and Friends

If you are in India, the choice is a lot more than any other place. The street food gets you more attracted to order, especially if you are with friends you go with the flow and spend more out of your ticket. I don’t know about girls but boys generally don’t share the expenses, some guys pay for all their gangs, which ends up in a huge bill.

    FOMO and Dining Out Trends

When your friends and colleagues are going to restaurants, clubs, movies dining out having fun, posting them on their story on social media, you get the FOMO. You get the mood to travel, dine and eat photographs in the restaurant with a plastic smile, even though the bill is costing you money, just for complete ego and FOMO satisfaction.

These are all you can avoid, if you stay away from toxic friendships, share the bill among all, or keep away from those FOMO content on social media, you can do much better with your personal finance and future financial goals.

    Tips to Break the Cycle

    Mindful Eating and Spending

After all, it’s your money. You can do anything with it. Think if you have any family responsibilities, or future financial goals like buying your own house, staying independent, or financially free, retire early, you have to go beyond what the regular guys do.

Morgan Housel, the author of the book ‘Psychology of Money’ said that while you are young, getting FOMO is a fact but you can’t just spend out of fear. You’ve to look for the future plan your retirement & live a frugal life with as little money as possible and try to inculcate a saving habit in your daily life.

You can invest or not, it’s totally up to you, but saving from your salary at least, 20 to 30% is mandatory to have an emergency fund or to face dark situations in the future with more strength and resilience.

Eating at home is the key to saving more. That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t stop eating out You can spend eating out a few days in a month like once a week or going to a movie once or twice a month is really good for you to break from the work pressure and clutter mindset and good for your mental health.

Small changes like taking your lunch box to your workplace can save you a lot in the lunch break and make a big impact. Hosting your friends or colleagues at your place and presenting the handmade delicacies of your home town or that represent your culture can make your bond even more stronger without going for any fancy casual restaurant.

Generally new generation avoids this and feels shame. But the pure friends feel this as a blessing and pure bonding forms with such small small gestures and small changes in your life.

So, think before you spend. you have a future to plan and spend. You have a life to retire. There you’ll have no earning opportunities. You have to start planning for it.

    All the best!

    graphic design terms and conditions

These graphic design terms and conditions are applied to all the clients who come to us for any kind of graphic design-related projects or tasks.

    Quotation & invoicing

Before any work begins, all costs are discussed upfront. The prices you see for a design service cover the services mentioned only—anything extra will be charged separately.

Even if the communication has happened through text, WhatsApp, or audio call, Email confirmation regarding the estimates or quotations, invoices and terms and conditions are mandatory with signed and scanned documents by the client.

The work will be started only after the initial payment of 50% on the agreed invoice through the emailed quotation and invoice.

Please note that additional changes more than the particular mentioned time or period or additional requirements asked by the client will be charged separately. So kindly go through the mentioned customer notes and terms and conditions in the invoice.

The charges asked for the completion of the desk task are only for submitting the final version in JPG, or PNG format. Getting the source file formats like PSD, AI, PRPROJ, and INDD will cost additionally.

The VAT or GST taxes, and payment gateway handling charges involved in the invoice or estimate are excluded from the total project cost and must be paid additionally.

Recommendations, modifications, changes, customizations etc from the client’s side during the middle of the project may cost additionally higher than the previously agreed amount of the project.

The design company or the FREELANCER has the right to modify or change their pricing of services in the future, as per their need of the agency and expenses to run it. We can’t guarantee similar pricing for the upcoming periods.

    Project timeline and delivery

Graphic design projects follow an agreed-upon schedule, but delays can sometimes happen—especially if clients need more time to provide feedback or make decisions.

The mentioned task will be delivered on a monthly or in the mentioned time frame given in the estimate of the project. and the payment of the project will also be mentioned there as per the duration.

It requires continuous dedicated efforts to create stunning, original designs that resonate with the brand’s emotions. So the advance amount given at the beginning of the project is non-refundable.

It’s important to remember that quoted delivery times are estimates, and while every effort is made to stick to them, unforeseen circumstances can sometimes cause delays.

    Copyright and Intellectual Property

As a design freelancer or design agency, we are responsible for providing you with the best unique design possible in the market to compete and sell your products and services.

But we do not provide any registered trademark or copyright protection from the government or authority in any case from our side. It’s to be solely done by the client upon getting the design files through individual lawyer consultation. As a client, you’re granted the right to use the final design for the agreed purposes. If you’d like to own the design files or any other intellectual property, that can be arranged through a separate agreement.

Upon seeing the final design files, after the client is satisfied with the outcome through the given Adobe or other links, the final 100% payment is needed to be sent by the client, before sharing the final export and file formats to the client.

When it comes to logos, images, or text provided by the client, the client is responsible for ensuring they have the right to use these materials. The design company cannot be held liable for any copyright issues that arise from client-supplied content.

Typically, any work created during the project belongs to the design company unless otherwise stated and they can use the materials for intra-business promotions or advertising purposes.

The design or service is offered “as-is” with the features and functions outlined on the website. Any concerns about missing features, unmet expectations, or comparisons to similar services or competitors will not be addressed, and our design agency is not liable for such claims.

    Project Adjustments and Freelance Support

Sometimes, a project requires additional help. In such cases, the design company may hire freelance designers or outsource parts of the project to ensure everything is completed on time.

Rest assured, any outsourced work will still be managed by the main design team, so you don’t have to worry about losing control over the project.

    Data Protection and Privacy

When personal data is involved, it’s the client’s responsibility to ensure compliance with data protection regulations. If a project requires the handling of customer data, this must be outlined in the agreement, ensuring everything follows the correct legal processes.

    Disputes and Liability

No one likes to think about disputes, but sometimes things don’t go as planned. If any problems arise, both parties are encouraged to communicate and resolve the issue in good faith. Should there be a legitimate issue, such as a quality concern or damage after the agreed decision and final payment, no such things will be entertained.

However, keep in mind that the design company is not liable for any modifications made to the design after the project is completed or handed over to another party. For example, if you choose to work with another agency after the project is delivered, any changes they make will be their responsibility, not the original designer’s.

    Marketing and Promotion

Design companies often retain the right to use the work they’ve done for you as part of their portfolio unless you request otherwise. This helps them showcase their work to future clients and promote their services. If you prefer not to have your project used in this way, simply communicate that during your agreement.

The design agency can promote and showcase the previous works of the clients on their own official website for portfolio and promotional activities.

Working with a graphic design service can be a seamless and rewarding process when everyone understands their roles and responsibilities. The graphic design terms and conditions outlined here are designed to ensure transparency, fairness, and mutual respect between designers and clients. Keep these points in mind as you collaborate, and you’ll be set up for success!

My Shocking Experience with Google Business Profile’s anti Sanatana Policies and Posting the Updates

If you have a free listing on Google Business Profile, then there’s a option to post updates similar to posting on any other social platform.

But Yesterday on Ganesh Chaturthi, when I tried to post a wish motion poster, it went to review. And generally, it went for review. Later I got this mail from Google.

I don’t know if my site will be demonetized or what. I don’t care. I will write about it.

They sent this mail regarding the below post.

    Mail from Google

isn’t it strange? Operating in India, and controlling the FREE Speech and Sanatana culture in this country systematically?

Does my festival violate Google’s content policy? Does it spread any kind of nudity? drugs? violence? No nothing.

    then, What’s wrong with it?

Let me share the original post with you.

As you can see, it’s such a beautiful post, I’m wishing success and prosperity to my clients on Ganesh Chaturthi through my company BrandMen Studio, a branding and digital agency.

I was shocked. and wrote this on my Twitter handle today.
